color theory project-robopapel by galvo color theory project-robopapel by galvo
So i had to do this lil project for color theory class that involved me cutting out tons of lil pieces of this paper called COLOR-AID, and what i had to do was assemble the same design four times over in different coloring styles.

top left is analogous color (three colors next to each on the color wheel, green, yellow and yellow orange)
top right is monochromatic (shades of one color, i choose blue)
bottom left is split complimentary (its like complimentary color, but you take the complimentary color and go over one step to the left and right of the complimentary color, thus purple blue, orange and yellow.)
bottom right is complimentary (colors right across from each other on the color wheel, thus green and purple.)

but yah, this was really fun, aside from cutting apart shit and having to glue these lil shits together with sticky ass rubber cement! (each one is about 4x6)

anyhoo.
originally i had planned on using La Pompis -- :thumb39592797: - but i realized it was gonna be a pain in the ass to cut out a big ass heart with an exacto knife. I ended up actually using the lil scissors on a phony swiss army knife i have, so i guess i shoulda done the pompis design but w/e.

i like how it turned out si si.

YOU...Its this picture that gave my Design 1 professor the idea to give my class a color-aid assignment.
Oh well...

Got any tips on keeping the color-aid blemish free? Because it scratches really easily..

Very nice! I had to do a monochromatic picture in art class, but we did the picture involving drawing manikins, and we used paint. I chose the same color as you, blue.

Ok this it what you do (it's a html code so i'll use brackets instead of arrows, when you try it just replace the brackets with arrows ok)
here's the code:
[tt]add text here [/tt]

the code is:
[sup]insert text[/sup]

and this is your result
you can combine both codes to make it look like this, but if find it to be too small, but you can still try it

I should've put more effort into that, yeah. I find it harder to work with traditional mediums, though. It's hard to place creative ideas on a foreign canvas, so to speak.

Actually I took my color theory class at Academy of Art University, not AI, and their color theory class is MUCH different and MUCH more technical (read, less fun). For the most part I was painting colors on bristol and cutting them out into little color swatches, and I was docked points because I could not achieve a perfect 45 degree angle when I cut my little color squares =O.

No room for creativity at all. Sob.

Haha, yeah we used gouache too. I admit it's an excellent paint, but I'll be damned if I have to pay another $11 for another five strokes. =\
